Abstract:

“Technology has played an important role in the arena of Education in the last few decades. With the advancement of technology and technological wonder education has got a new shape and new dimension that automatically altered the role of the teachers thoroughly. This has changed the requirement of the quality of the teachers that progressively gave birth to a new concept or new domain of knowledge in the field of teaching i.e. Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK). TPACK is the particular framework for the teachers which will definitely help the teachers in the classroom situation for conducting an effective teaching learning process. The present chapter deals with the gradual evolution of Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework that was developed for the teachers. The authors have made extensive literature review both in India and abroad and prepared this article. Besides the different components of TPACK like Content Knowledge (CK), Pedagogical Knowledge (PK), Technological Knowledge (TK), Technological Content Knowledge (TCK), Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK), Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) and Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) are also discussed.”
