Abstract:
“In this study, it was aimed to determine pre-service teachers’ self-confidence towards subcomponents related to Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge and technology. For this purpose, Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Self-Confidence Scale (TPCKSCS) which had been developed by Graham et al. whose was adapted by Timur and Tasar (2011) was used. The study was carried out with 368 students studying at seven different departments of the faculty of education at Mustafa Kemal University in academic years of 2012-2013. At the end of the study, the pre-service teachers’ self-confidence towards technological component of technological pedagogical content knowledge was found out high. Furthermore, statistically significant relationship in a positive way was found among all the sub-dimensions of TPCK self-confidence scale. In addition, it was figure out that there was statistically meaningful difference in favor of the students in Computer Education and Instructional Technologies department among them and other departments in all sub-dimensions among pre-service teachers’ self-confidence towards technological component of technological pedagogical content knowledge depending on program types which they study. In the study, it was also found out that there was no statistically meaningful difference among pre-service teachers’ self-confidence towards technological component of technological pedagogical content knowledge depending on gender.”
