Mangar, B. F. (2022). Nursing education and the impact of educational technology after COVID-19 pandemic: A qualitative study of nursing faculty perspectives (Publication No. 30245753) [Doctoral dissertation, New Jersey City University]. ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global.

Abstract:

“The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to explore the perceptions of nursing faculty at a Northeastern nursing college as they integrated technology into their practice during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study was done using two frameworks: the technology integration (TPACK) and the Lewin’s change theory. A purposeful sample of participants was drawn from faculty at a Northeastern nursing college. The data collection method comprised an electronic survey and questionnaire via Qualtrics and one-to-one interviews via Zoom. After the interviews were completed, an artificial intelligence transcription software (Otter ai.) was used to transcribe the recorded audio data into text and then coded by the use of a qualitative data analysis software (Atlas.ti). A thematic analysis of the data was done using Braun and Clark’s framework. The findings indicated that nursing faculty at a Northeastern nursing college were hesitant to fully integrate technology into their practice due to three broad themes, which are inadequate training, unstable technology, and fear of change.”
