Abstract:
“Digital teaching skills have gained strong prominence in the educational context, being one of the key skills that teachers must master in the digital age. Despite the multiple studies that address this issue, the instructional practices of prospective math teachers reflect obvious weaknesses in digital teaching skills. This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a suggested programme based on Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) via E-learning platform for developing the digital teaching skills of a prospective math teacher. To fulfil the purpose of the study, A suggested programme based on Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) via the Microsoft Teams Platform was utilized, a list of digital teaching skills for prospective math teachers was designed, as well as cognitive aspects associated with the Digital Teaching Skills test and a teacher’s performance observation checklist for prospective mathematics teachers, The validity and reliability of the study instruments were established before their use in the study, The study adopted the quasi-experimental design, and the research design used a pre – post experimental group. Fifty-eight (58) student teachers in the fourth level majoring in mathematics at Sohag College of Education were involved in this study. The suggested programme based on Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) via E-learning platform was administered to the participants for about 48 hours. Statistical data analysis was conducted using paired samples T-tests. Results revealed the significance of the T-test values for the difference between the pre- and post-administration of the cognitive aspect associated with the Digital Teaching Skills test and the performance observation checklist in favor of the post administration, Results also revealed that the proposed programme was effective in developing the student teachers’ digital teaching skills. Based on the results of the study, The study recommended using the TPACK framework for developing the digital teaching skills of prospective math teachers.” [Article is displayed in Arabic.]
